WASHINGTON – The Pension Rights Center, the nation’s only consumer organization dedicated solely to protecting and promoting the retirement security of American workers, retirees, and their families, has launched its newly designed web site, www.pensionrights.org. The new site offers greatly expanded information on pension issues, while incorporating user-friendly design elements.
“Our new web site is designed for consumers who are seeking a wide range of information about pensions,” says Pension Rights Center director Karen Ferguson. “It provides guidance for workers seeking help with pension problems and updates for grassroots activists looking for the latest policy developments, while also highlighting the work of the Center’s two principal initiatives, the National Pension Assistance Resource Center and the Conversation on Coverage.”
The new web site incorporates best practices for usability and accessibility to ensure that visitors to the site can quickly locate the information they are seeking. User-friendly features include large typeface in simple fonts, easy-to-read navigation buttons, a search engine, and minimal scrolling. The site, which is compatible with alternative browsing devices, such as text-only browsers, browsers for the visually impaired, and cell phones, incorporates advanced technology to make the web site accessible to people with disabilities.
