On March 12th, a number of consumer, research and retiree groups, including the Pension Rights Center, sent a letter to members of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce to urge them to oppose “The ERISA Litigation Reform Act” (HR 6084) before the Committee considers it for markup.
The PRC argued that HR 6084 would undermine the objective of ERISA to allow plan participants to protect their retirement income.
The letter was signed by PRC and the Alliance for Retired Americans, Americans for Financial Reform, the Committee for the Fiduciary Standard, the Economic Policy Institute, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security, and the Medicare
National Retiree Legislative Network.
